The county auditor maintains the integrity of financial administration of county government by overseeing the financial record-keeping for the county and to assure that all expenditures comply with the county budget. The county auditor must audit all bills approved for payment by the board of commissioners before checks are issued. All expenses must be legitimate with adequate funds to cover payments within each departmental budget.

The county auditor's office is broken down into various divisions in order to best serve the public. Within these divisions you will find personal property, board of revisions, manufactured homes, estate tax, and vendor, dog and cigarette licensing, just to name a few. Located within the navigation bar to the left of the screen are all divisions of the auditor's office with clickable links to information on each area.

Auditor Biviano Receives Awards for Both the CAFR and PAFR for Fiscal Year 2008

Trumbull County Auditor, Adrian Biviano, has once again received awards for both the CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) and the PAFR (Popular Annual Financial Report) for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2008. The 'Certficate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting' received by the CAFR is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Trumbull County Auditor Elected as Vice President of the Northeast District of the CAAO

Trumbull County Auditor, Adrian Biviano, has been elected as the Vice President of the Northeast District of the CAAO (County Auditors' Association of Ohio). The District works closely with the CAAO Columbus office to monitor legislative proposals that impact local taxpayers and to offer initiatives that assist County Auditors in carrying out their duties. Major initiatives for this year include school funding and taxation issues, review of the state's biennial budget and to continue working with the Ohio General Assembly to maximize county government efficiency and effectiveness.

The CAAO includes all 88 Ohio County Auditors. Now in its 142nd year, it was established to promote and protect the interests of the taxpayers of Ohio and to improve the administration of county government.

Trumbull County Auditor Receives Continuing Education Award

Trumbull County Auditor, Adrian Biviano, is the recipient of the "Distinguished County Auditor" award, presented by the County Auditors' Association of Ohio (CAAO). The award recognizes County Auditors who have completed 100 or more hours of continuing education during their term in office. County Auditors are required to complete at least 24 hours of continuing education during their term in office. Auditor Biviano obtained his training in topics such as Standards of Mass Appraisal, Planning and Technical Issues in County Audits, Certified Public Records Training, and two mandatory classes in ethics and substance abuse.


Auditor Biviano and His Staff Receive Award for Excellence in Financial Accountability from Ohio Auditor Mary Taylor

Trumbull County Auditor Adrian Biviano's office has been recognized for its excellence in financial accountability for the fourth consecutive year with the Making Your Tax Dollars Count Award for having a clean audit in 2008. This prestigious award had been received by less than 5 percent of all Ohio governments. ***Safety Forces/Law Enforcement Redactment Form***

With the passing of House Bill 46 as stated in section 319.28 (B)(1), effective September 1, 2008, a "Safety Forces/Law Enforcement Redactment Form" is now available to those individuals who are employed in the safety forces or law enforcement fields. The bill entails that these individuals, if applicable, may request in writing that the Trumbull County Auditor's Office redact personal information of that individual from any records made available to the general public on the internet.

Special Note: This form is only to be filled out by those employed as a peace officer, parole officer, prosecuting attorney, assistant prosecuting attorney, correctional employee, youth service employee, firefighter, or EMT.

***Release of the 2008 CAFR and PAFR Reports***

Trumbull County Auditor, Adrian S. Biviano, is pleased to announce the release of the CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) and the PAFR (Popular Annual Financial Report) for the year ended December 31, 2008. Both reports are available for viewing online.

***Residential Rental Property Registration Notice***

Ohio Revised Code Section (R.C.) 5323.02 requires an owner of residential rental property to register a contact agent for that property with the county auditor's office within 60 days (including weekends and holidays) following the day a real property conveyance form for that property is filed with the county auditor. Failure to file this information in a timely manner may result in the assessment of a penalty of up to $150 against the property that is the subject of the violation.
